Frodo decides to start the Quest because he knows that he would endanger everyone who lives in the Shire if he stayed

Frodo wants to go alone because he doesn’t want to put anyone else’s life in danger

Frodo is initially upset when Sam goes with him because Frodo is certain that Sam will die

Frodo weeps at the thought of failing the Quest because his failure would doom everyone

Frodo spends the entire journey thinking about everyone else and spends almost no time thinking about himself and thAT UPSETS ME SO MUCH
